National Seminar on Psychosocial Rehabilitation

Indonesian Association of Social Worker, jointly with The Indonesian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (member of World Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation), organized a full-day national seminar & a full-day national workshop on Psychosocial Rehabilitation. 

The seminar was held at Duren Sawit Psychiatric Hospital, Jakarta on November 8, 2014. The workshop was held at Santika Hotel, Depok, West Java, on November 9, 2014. The event aims to extract the lesson from progress of psychosocial rehabilitation in Indonesia. Within the broad theme of "Psychosocial Rehabilitation in Indonesia, Multidisciplinary and Cross-Sectoral Integration: Implementation to Policy, Education and Practice". The seminar welcomed over 150 participants from all over Indonesia, as well as representatives of mental health professionals, government institutions, hospitals, students and caregivers in Indonesia.

The workshop invited 60 participants from professionals (psychiatrists, psychologists, mental health nurses, occupational therapists and social workers), academics, policy makers, caregivers, as well as representatives of various professional associations to work on these key issues. Rose Henderson, IFSW member at-large was the keynote speaker at the seminar, she spoke on A New Zealand Perspectives of Multidisciplinary and Integrated Models of Psychosocial Rehabilitation across a Mental Health System. The workshop discussed the following sub-themes: 1 Aligning understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation among the professionals to get a consensus. And to increase understanding of the duties and functions of each profession, and also identifies psychosocial rehabilitation models that have been implemented in the field. 2 Identify policies that can support the implementation of psychosocial rehabilitation and to identify policies that are considered necessary to be made as well as setting the pace strategy.

I3 Formulation of academic strategies that can be implemented into the curriculum of each university and discipline or perceived to be incorporated and taught to students.

    Ikatan Pekerja Sosial Profesional Indonesia (IPSPI) adalah nama organisasi profesi pekerjaan sosial di Indonesia
    A. Tujuan IPSPI
    1) Mewadahi Pekerja Sosial Profesional di Indonesia,
    2) Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan professional Pekerja Sosial Indonesia,
    3) Memberikan arah bagi standarisasi praktek pekerjaan sosial dan izin praktek bagi pekerja sosial,
    4) Memberikan perlindungan kepada anggota dan masyarakat penerima pelayanan Pekerja Sosial,
    5) Membina kerjasama guna kemajuan dalam pengembangan keilmuan dan profesionalisme anggota melalui pemupukan rasa kekeluargaan sesame anggota dan meningkatkan kerja sama dengan organisasi keilmuan dan profesi lainnnya baik di dalam maupun di luar negeri,
    6) Melaksanakan pembangunan nasional Indonesia pada umumnya, serta secara khusus pembangunan sosial dan pelayanan kesejahteraan sosial.
